Automation
Automation Is Part of the Deliverable
April 19, 2026 · Mike Anderson · 4 min read
If an environment only works because the original engineer remembers the steps, it is not finished.
At Anderson Computer Consulting, automation is not an optional add-on. It is part of the actual deliverable. That means:
- infrastructure build logic lives in source control
- repeatable tasks are moved into Ansible, scripts, or CI/CD
- backups and restore paths are documented
- operational runbooks exist for the people inheriting the system
Why this matters
Manual-only environments fail in predictable ways:
- rebuilds take too long
- changes are inconsistent across sites
- audits become painful
- troubleshooting turns into guesswork
What we aim to leave behind
The target state is simple:
- a team can rebuild the service
- a new admin can understand the layout
- a security reviewer can follow the controls
- a stakeholder can read the documentation and know what they bought
Working infrastructure matters. So does the ability to keep it working after the project closes.
